An 18-year-old Bay Minette resident has been arrested and charged with first-degree assault in connection with a spring break shooting incident that happened March 27 in Gulf Shores, according to police.
Gregory D. Tate III was taken into custody by the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes Unit, police said this morning.
It was about 8:40 p.m. March 27 when the Gulf Shores Police Department received a report of shots being fired in the 100 block of Gulf Shores Parkway, near the intersection of Highway 59 and East Beach Boulevard. One juvenile male victim was shot and received an injury that was not life threatening. Police said that over the past week detectives from the GSPD’s Criminal Investigation Division worked with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, the Baldwin County District Attorney’s Office and the Bay Minette Police Department to identify the suspect they say is responsible for the shooting. On Tuesday an arrest warrant was issued for Tate.
