Guardians slugger Josh Naylor and infielder Tyler Freeman are heading to the injured list, the club announced ahead of Friday’s series opener against the White Sox.
In 11 big league seasons with the Angels, Diamondbacks and Rangers, Calhoun has collected 140 home runs and 557 RBI with a .743 OPS and a .243 batting average.
Naylor, 26, is fourth in the American League with a .306 batting average and leads Cleveland with 79 RBI. Since May 30, Naylor is second among major league hitters with a .368 average and ranks fourth with 47 RBI. He missed the final two games of the Guardians’ series in Houston after reporting soreness in his right side prior to Tuesday’s contest.
