A man has been charged after human remains were discovered in a burnt-out tree trunk on a property in NSW’s Central West. David Collisson, 53, was reported missing on October 15 after he was last seen at a property on Wilbertree Rd at Menah, about 9km from Mudgee. Police then searched the property on October 25 and discovered bones, believed to be human, in the tree trunk a day later.
On Saturday police arrested a 33-year-old man and charged him with murder, acquire firearm subject to prohibition order, acquire ammunition subject to prohibition order, possess shortened firearm without authority, and possess ammunition without holding licence/permit authority. He is expected to face court on Sunday, where police will allege the man shot Collisson at the property over a dispute. Investigations are continuing.
