Ending the last season of “The Big Story,” broadcaster Gretchen Ho can encapsulate her team-up with Roby Alampaya into one phrase: “a product of God’s sense of humor.”
Alampay, a seasoned journalist who once helmed Business World, anchored the last season of “The Big Story” with Ho on TV 5, but will now give way to two ladies as the news programs’ co-anchors — Regina Lay & Shawn Yao, who will share anchoring duties with Ho, a former athlete before becoming a TV presenter.On Instagram, Ho said that in the two years that they were anchoring the show, she, a newbie anchor, had learned a lot from Alampay.
“‘The Big Story’ can’t begin a new season without ending the previous one the right way. Aside from the obvious reasons of why this pairing with @robyalampay was a product of God’s sense of humor, I thought it was right that I had my first foray into hard news with you as my co-anchor,” she said.
