Stevens joined the case this week, according to online Bexar County court records. He will serve as co-counsel.Simmons, 67, a beloved figure who had worked at KSAT for 42 years, was arrested about 3 a.m. Friday by a Bexar County sheriff’s deputy on suspicion ofThe deputy pulled Simmons over after he saw him driving erratically and drifting between lanes on Evans Road on the far North Side, according to an incident report.
Simmons believed he was driving on U.S. 281 and gave the deputy a gold American Express card when asked for his license, according to the report.resigned on Monday from his job at KSATStevens has practiced law in Texas since 1979. He is a past president of the San Antonio Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and has received many awards for his work. He has served as an adjunct professor of law at St. Mary’s University School of Law since 1990, according to his website.
