Cruise ship visitors to Mykonos and Santorini will be hit by a €20 levy during peak months
Under plans drawn up by the government, cruise ship visitors to the picturesque islands of Mykonos and Santorini would be required to pay a levy of €20 during the peak months.
Mr Mitsotakis said excessive tourism was only a problem in a few destinations, according to The Telegraph. “Greece does not have a structural over-tourism problem ... Some of its destinations have a significant issue during certain weeks or months of the year, which we need to deal with,” he told reporters.
