Victorian authorities have provided an update on the flood warnings issued across the state. \n\nAn evacuation warning was issued for Sale in the Gippsland Region with concerns the nearby Thomson River could reach the major flood level of four metres by late Friday morning.\n\nOne authority said the river is now expected to peak at a moderate level at 3.7 metres, rather than the initial expected major flood level of four metres.\n\n“That is great news for the local community in Sale as well as our members who remain out there to support them through this flooding event,” he said during a media conference. \n\nThe Michell River also peaked at around 6.51 metres earlier on Friday morning and is receding.
