Are Night Troopers the OG Death Troopers?
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Summary Grand Admiral Thrawn has finally debuted in Ahsoka episode 6 along with a new Imperial force known as the Night Troopers. Having been exiled to an entirely separate galaxy, the former Imperial leader was absent for the events of the Galactic Civil War and the demise of the Empire. However, Thrawn is now uniquely positioned to make his return to the known galaxy with his intimidating soldiers.
Have Night Troopers Appeared In Star Wars Before? Technically, Thrawn's new army is still his old one from Star Wars Rebels. In the finale of the animated series, Ezra Bridger used his Force connection with a pod of star whales known as purrgil to defeat Thrawn, the very same creatures Ahsoka is now using to make her way to Peridea.
No one in the Grand Admiral's army represents this dark transformation more than Captain Enoch, Thrawn's new right-hand man. Having more gold pieces than most under his command, Enoch is strikingly distinct wearing a golden mask fused within the standard helmet of an Imperial Stormtrooper. Likewise, Enoch's mask is reminiscent of the Nightsisters.
