GABUNGAN Parti Sarawak will leave it to the wisdom of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah to appoint a prime minister who will lead a strong federal government, the coalition said today. In a statement, GPS chairman Abang Johari Openg said this was in line with the powers accorded to the king by the Federal Constitution.
The Sarawak premier said the people’s mandate must be respected in light of the ongoing political turmoil in Peninsular Malaysia. However, in its statement GPS omitted naming its preferred candidate for prime minister, having previously endorsed Muhyiddin Yassin. – November 22, 2022.
