Assistant Treasurer Stephen Jones says a lot of work has been put into ensuring communities can stay safe during the bushfire season.\n\n“A lot of work has been put into, over the last three months, ensuring that we’re working in a coordinated way with the state and local authorities to firm up our preparedness to ensure that we’ve got those emergency services arrangements in place,” Mr Jones told Sky News Australia. \n\nMr Jones said they are prepared for the worst and hoping they don’t have to swing into action.\n\n“But if we do need to swing into action you’ll see join-up arrangements between state and local governments and the federal government.\n\n“And us doing everything we can to ensure that communities can stay safe and be protected if the worst goes wrong.”
