PETALING JAYA: A total of 33 types of public transportation and goods vehicles will continue to receive subsidised diesel through fleet card s under the Subsidised Diesel Regulation System Pilot Project, says Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali.
The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister said any public transport and goods companies that have received approval under the Subsidised Diesel Regulation System Pilot Project but have yet to receive their fleet cards from fuel stations must keep their receipts starting Monday . "This is to allow cash rebate claims to be made to the Finance Ministry according to the application procedures that will be announced later," he said in a statement on Sunday .manage and monitor the subsidised diesel through the fleet card system.
At the same time, Armizan also urged eligible transport companies that have not yet applied for diesel subsidy approval to do so immediately via"We would like to emphasise that all existing directives and regulations related to the sale of diesel remain in force and applicable with the announcement of this new diesel price," noted Armizan.
Earlier, the government announced that diesel prices would be floated and retail at RM3.35 per litre on the peninsula starting at midnight on Monday , says Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan.The previous diesel price announced on June 5 was RM2.15 per litre, which would be maintained for Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan.
