The Department of Statistics Malaysia shared some new data on their Facebook page, showing that in Q2 2024, the death rate for men in Malaysia was higher than for women.

Mohd Uzair also pointed out that, out of the 48,460 deaths, 27,510 were male deaths and 20,950 were female deaths, so the ratio was 131 male deaths for every 100 female deaths.Selangor tops the list with the highest number of live births at 19,320, while Labuan records the lowest with just 324 births.

Deaths among the Chinese and Indian groups dropped to 26.0% and 8.1%, respectively, from 26.1% and 8.2% in the same quarter last year.
