The State Government is committed to bringing Sabah to a better and more advanced level in line with the concept of Malaysia Madani initiated by the Unity Government.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said this commitment was translated into the Development Plan for Sabah Maju Jaya which emphasised the empowerment of education and training, the empowerment of the economic sector and the strengthening of relations and understanding between the multi-racial, religious and cultural communities in the State. “We are truly grateful because Sabah has been given an abundant source of sustenance.

“All the yields from agriculture, livestock, forest, petroleum, gas and so on will not give any profit and benefit if people do not know and want to take the initiative to change themselves to appreciate and be thankful for favours in a positive, creative and innovative way,” he said. He said apart from conserving existing upstream resources, the people should be wise and creative in diversifying downstream industries in an effort to add value to existing products.
