Govt asks Riyadh to allow 3 Malaysians to perform haj
The annual haj usually draws 2.5 million Muslims from all over the world to Saudi Arabia, but the Covid-19 crisis this year sees authorities slashing the figure to just 1,000. – EPA pic, July 22, 2020.
THE government has appealed to Saudi Arabia to allow three Malaysians currently in the kingdom to be among the 1,000 pilgrims selected to perform the haj this year. Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri said the three are Lembaga Tabung Haji staff assigned to report on the pilgrimage.
