Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has met traditional rulers across the state over plans to reconstitute the Council of Obas and Chiefs. The governor expressed the readiness of his administration to fully resolve all issues and make the Council functional again.

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has met traditional rulers across the state over plans to reconstitute the Council of Obas and Chiefs. The governor met the traditional rulers at the weekend in Ibadan, the state capital. The meeting was attended by traditional rulers from the five geopolitical zones in the state. DAILY POST gathered that the Council has not been sitting since 2011.

Makinde, who was represented by his Deputy, Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, said that the current state or the Council has become a source of worry for the government of the state. The governor expressed the readiness of his administration to fully resolve all issues and make the Council functional again. He added that his administration has earlier called for recommendations and suggestions from the members of the Council
