The Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has assured that the integrity of data, particularly the people's information, will always be safeguarded. He addressed social media rumors about the alleged leakage of 17 million identity cards or MyKad data. To date, no such incidents have been reported. The National Registration Department (JPN) and the information technology security division have been tasked with investigating the matter.
Saifuddin also mentioned the possibility of expanding the Independent Police Conduct Commission (IPCC) Act to other enforcement agencies in the future
