LEGAZPI CITY — The Philippine Army recovered explosives and bullets after an encounter on Thursday with alleged members of the New People’s Army in Bula town in Camarines Sur.
Captain Frank Roldan, public affairs office chief of the Army’s 9th Infantry Division, reported that the 49th Infantry Battalion figured in a seven-minute clash around 10 a.m. with the NPA rebels in Barangay Caorasan.Roldan said government troops conducted an operation after residents reported the presence of armed men in the area.
