Google says that it is letting Gemini Live take real-time screen and camera prompts, even for free users on Android.
Last month, Google said that it had started rolling out the ability for Google Gemini Live to take real-time prompts, either via your screen or your phone's rear camera. Earlier, the feature was noted to be only for Gemini Advanced subscribers as part of the Google One AI Premium plan. Now, the company has announced that it will be free for all Android users via the Gemini app.
The internet search giant made the announcement via its official account on X, stating that the rollout process is 'starting today and over the coming weeks'. For what it's worth, we haven't gotten access to the feature, at least at the time of writing.Said post opened with 'we've been hearing great feedback on Gemini Live with camera and screen share, so we decided to bring it to more people'.
Or, if you're a major cynic, you may see this as simply a way to get more training data, or just data on people in general. Either way, it may be awhile before you or I get to use real-time prompts.
