NSW players arrived at their hotel on Monday afternoon, with Nicho Hynes declaring himself a certain starter at halfback and the new skipper receiving a warm reception.

Walking freely and showing no signs of injury, Nicho Hynes declared he would be ready to take his place against Queensland in the State of Origin opener, revealing his injured calf felt better now than it had seven days ago.

“It was a bit of a worry there once cooled down in the middle of the game .
