KOTA KINABALU: A former assistant minister held up at sea on suspicion of armed intrusion on Thursday takes his hat off to the Malaysian security forces patrolling the waters between Sabah and the Philippines.
Datuk Ramlee Marahaban said the sense of vigilance displayed by the security forces was admirable.
“I forgot to bring along my identity card. It was a mistake on my part,” Ramlee said, adding that the shotgun and pistol he was carrying was licensed. They found all five on board the vessel without documents and also armed with a pistol, shotgun and bullets. The army immediately handed the five over to Semporna police. They were released after their identities were verified.
