“We’re looking to put it behind us and get the Malaysian people the money that they deserve,” Goldman Sachs President and Chief Operating Officer John Waldron said in a Bloomberg Television interview on Wednesday, in response to a question about 1MDB.
Waldron said it’s hard to give a time frame for when the 1MDB matter will be resolved. He declined to comment on the prospects for any settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice. U.S. prosecutors have charged two former bankers at Goldman Sachs, which received US$600 million in fees for the bond sales.
