Goldman announces retirement from St. Johns VCB
Richard Goldman will retire from his position as president and CEO of St. Augustine Ponte Vedra & The Beaches Visitors and Convention Bureau, effective Dec. 31.
Goldman joined the VCB in 2009, where he has been responsible for leading the marketing effort of the destination. Prior to joining the VCB, he served as the senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Amelia Island Plantation. During Goldman's tenure, St. Johns County has seen measurable tourism growth across all metrics, including record-breaking Tourist Development Tax collections — from $4.6 million in FY2009 to $22.7 million in FY2022.
“Richard’s 40-plus years of tourism and advertising experience have made a significant impact not only on St. Johns County, but also on the state of Florida,” said Kimberly Wilson, chair of the VCB and general manager for the Casa Monica Resort & Spa. Added Goldman: “It has been an honor to serve and work with such an array of talented, creative, dedicated, and knowledgeable tourism professionals throughout St. Johns County. For the last 24 years, I have dedicated nearly every waking hour to supporting our stakeholders and their employees for the benefit of the economy in North Florida."
