Authorities in Malaysia have arrested 171 suspects and rescued over 400 children from welfare homes allegedly run by Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings (GISBH). Police are investigating claims of child exploitation, including sexual assault and harassment.

Global Ikhwan denies sodomy and assault claims, says raided welfare homes where over 400 kids rescued not under its controlInspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said authorities are also looking into whether these charity homes were registered.

He added that authorities are also looking into whether these charity homes were registered, as they were allegedly opened for orphans. The police raided the premises following a report on September 2 regarding alleged child abandonment, sexual assault, and harassment at the homes. “We feel it’s necessary to collect DNA samples because we know that their fathers are members of GISBH itself,” he was quoted saying by the online news portal.
