SINGAPORE: A man molested his mother-in-law multiple times in late 2023 after she moved into his house to help care for his newborn.

PETALING JAYA: The rehabilitation of children rescued from entities linked to Global Ikhwan Service and Business Holdings Sdn Bhd will take some time, activists say.

He was commenting on the Social Welfare Department obtaining a two-month temporary custody order from the court under Section 25 of the Child Act 2001.Agreeing with the government holding temporary custody of the children, Nayagam said rehabilitation could take more than six months. “It is the usual protocol for the court to order for children to be placed in the Social Welfare Department’s safehouses.

Wong said there would be continued monitoring by the department to ensure the children are able to integrate and are safe in their new placements.
