A 6-year-old girl in Nibong Tebal, Malaysia, tragically died after getting trapped in the gap of a folding table while playing alone at home. Her mother, Rianafitri Asih, said she never left her child unattended before, and she was shocked by this incident. The girl was rushed to the hospital but died during treatment. A post-mortem revealed the cause of death was brain swelling due to oxygen deprivation, and there are no signs of foul play.
NIBONG TEBAL : Ibu kepada Nur Aqifah Humaira Abdullah, 6, yang maut akibat tersepit di celah meja lipat tidak pernah menyangka bahawa kejadian buruk itu akan menimpa anak perempuannya.
“Saya memang tidak pernah tinggalkan dia dan akan bawa ke tempat kerja sebaik sahaja pulang dari sekolah. Dalam kejadian kira-kira pukul 4.15 petang semalam, Nur Aqifah Humaira yang juga anak bongsu daripada tiga beradik dikatakan tersepit di celah besi sebuah meja lipat di rumah sewa mereka di Taman Seri Putera ketika sedang bermain seorang diri.
Menurut polis, hasil bedah siasat mendapati, kematian Nur Aqifah Humaira dikatakan berpunca akibat pembengkakan otak disebabkan kekurangan oksigen dan tiada sebarang unsur jenayah dikesan setakat ini.
