Three Russian military aircrafts flying in international airspace over the Baltic Sea were intercepted by Germany and Britain.
It comes months after Poland intercepted Russian military aircraft off its coast in February.
The countries requested NATO allies establish bases and air defence over the Baltic Sea, as they lack adequate military. Russian News Agency TASS reported on Wednesday that Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov lashed out at NATO countries, saying they “wanted to break Russia apart but wound up bringing the country closer together instead”.
