Someone called it the "most polarising fruit in the world".
On July 18, the TikToker shared a video of her shirtless dad sitting at a table and enjoying a durian so thoroughly that a netizen commented:"He is now an honorary Singaporean."
After biting off a chunk of the fruit, the TikToker's dad wondered why his family was"looking at him like that". In the caption, the TikToker, whose real name is Julia Ciaciek, noted that her father said durian was"just a normal fruit".Replying to a question in the comments, she said the bought the durian in Bukit Batok where she lives.
Someone else requested:"Can your dad teach my husband please? He has a dramatic reaction to whenever I eat durian. Ran into the room and hide under the blanket."Another commenter said:"Your dad passed the Singaporean test!"The next day, as if to ratify her father's status as an"honorary Singaporean", the TikToker shared a video of him downing a plate of Singapore-style half-boiled egg with soy sauce.
While the son of the late Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin, insisted he liked the durian, his physical reaction to eating it suggested otherwise.Get more of Stomp's latest updates by following us on
