German court tries IS jihadist over Yazidi genocide
A man believed to be an Islamic State fighter is being tried in a German court for allegedly committing genocide during his time in Syria. – EPA pic, April 24, 2020.
A MAN believed to have belonged to the Islamic State group goes on trial in Germany today accused of genocide and murdering a child belonging to the Yazidi minority who he held as a slave. Identified only as Taha al-J., the 37-year-old Iraqi man is also accused of crimes against humanity, war crimes and human trafficking in the case, heard before Frankfurt judges.
