The Georgia-Notre Dame game could have college football's priciest ticket for the 2nd time in 3 years
Georgia wide receiver Terry Godwin makes a one-handed touchdown catch over Notre Dame cornerback Julian Love during the teams' 2017 meeting in South Bend. College football fans increasingly prefer to watch from home when their team plays a stinker of a matchup, but they remain willing to pay handsome sums to see the best opponents.Although Notre Dame’s Sept. 21 visit to Georgia is still four months away, the game is already shaping up as an all-timer from a demand standpoint.
Meanwhile, some teams just draw a crowd wherever they go. The starting price for 10 different Ohio State games was at least $100 on Vivid Seats’ site as of Tuesday evening. Only 56 FBS games in the entire 2019 season reached that level of demand, and the Buckeyes were the only team with at least 10 such games. Even the Group of Five opponents on the schedule were fetching a pretty penny, as both the opener against Florida Atlantic and the Sept.
Florida-Miami was the only neutral-site game on opening weekend drawing serious buzz as of Tuesday. Starting prices from the other neutral-site games that weekend were as follows: Alabama-Duke , North Carolina-South Carolina , Mississippi State-Louisiana-Lafayette , Florida State-Boise State , Colorado-Colorado State , Indiana-Ball State and Auburn-Oregon .
