Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are declining an invitation to the White House for winning the College Football Playoff national championship.
Georgia defeated TCU 65-7 in January to capture its second straight national championship.
The Bulldogs didn’t visit the White House after their 2022 national title due to COVID-19 restrictions. This year, many of the student-athletes won’t be on campus to make the trip. Meanwhile, LSU announced Monday it accepted an invitation to the White House on May 26 to celebrate the school’s first NCAA women’s basketball championship. President Biden will host UConn, winners of the school’s fifth men’s basketball championship, on the same day in a separate ceremony.. He can be heard on “The Opening Kickoff” on WNSP-FM 105.5 FM in Mobile or on the free Sound of Music App from 6 to 9 a.m. daily.
