Republican officials on Long Island said Rep. George Santos should resign from Congressinto the freshman lawmaker, who has faced scrutiny for his campaign finances and lies he told during his campaign.
“His lies were not mere fibs. He disgraced the House of Representatives,” said Nassau County Republican Chairman Joseph Cairo. He was joined in the call by Rep. Anthony D’Esposito , Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman and other officials.
