George Dunham of dfwticket and his Bird Dogs aim to make an impression at Troy Aikman’s concert
Aikman, now an ESPN broadcaster for NFL games, is a frequent guest on the Morning Musers and has been to Jub Jam a few times, which led to The Bird Dogs’ invite.
“Somehow, over the course of the last 12 years we’ve been able to fool Troy into thinking that we’re a legitimate band,” Dunham said, jokingly. How would you describe The Bird Dogs and how do you think they’ll resonate with Oklahomans? We are, for lack of a better definition, very Americana. That’s the way I’ve always written about life experiences, about losing people and redemption, and hope and things like that. The song that I wrote with Pat Green and Matt Boggs, “,” our band really kind of came up with that song. I hope it resonates with people. We got a song called “One More Friday Night,” which is about how you never really let go of your high school football team. People there should like it.
