Gentari now has over 200 EV charge points in Malaysia and it targets to have 400 by the end of this year. Their new locations include Genting Sempah, Lotus's Ampang, Menara Naza and Perdana Hotel KL.
has achieved a new milestone as it has deployed over 200 EV charge points across Malaysia. The green energy company under Petronas aims to have 400 charge points by the end of this year to support the government’s target of having 10,000 charge points nationwide by 2025.on LPT and three AC charging sites in Kuala Lumpur namely Menara Naza, Lotus’s Ampang in Pandan Indah and Perdana Hotel.
The Petronas Genting Sempah location gets a 24kW DC charger which has CCS2 and CHAdeMO connectors. The DC charger is priced atRM0.10 per minute . Meanwhile, Perdana Hotel KL at Lorong Binjai also gets three 11kW AC charge points which are also priced atthat’s assisted by solar and battery energy storage systems . The solution enables quick deployment of DC fast chargers in locations with power constraints. Its first location at Behrang Layby on the North-South Highway comes with a 300kWh BESS which can be trickle-charged by solar and from the grid. The site has two Kempower DC Chargers that can charge four EVs at the same time.
Gentari shared that it plans to deploy a similar setup at Behrang Layby as well as Senawang Layby . They also proposed three more locations at Ajil , and Perasing Rest and Service Area sites, all on Lebuhraya Pantai Timur 2 in Terengganu.Petronas Juru Layby October 15, 2023
