Gentari has launched the Gentari Go app, which the company claims is a green energy platform, letting users do more than just charge EVs.
If you're an EV owner, you've probably charged your vehicle via Gentari charging stations before. The Petronas subsidiary has since launched its own app called Gentari Go. The company dubs it the green energy platform, as it deals with more than just EV charging.
With that being said, being part of the EV charging process is one of its primary features. Similar to Setel, you can use the app to look for charging stations and activating them. If you're wondering 'why the need for a separate app', company representatives say this is due to the different focus of each app.
On that note, part of what makes the Gentari Go app the green energy platform is the ability for users to do other things like applying to get solar panels installed for your home, as well as renting EVs. For the latter, GoCar has been listed as a partner, which cars exactly you'll be able to rent was not shared. This is part of the company's push for wider green energy adoption.
For those who are already Gentari customers via other apps, you may be curious about if perks that you already have there will be transferred. On that, company representatives say that memberships via JomCharge will be transferred to Gentari Go. The company intends to dp the same for Mesra points accrued via Setel, though the exact details have yet to be fleshed out.
The Gentari Go app can now be downloaded from both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. That being said, you'll only be able to use it after 10PM today.
