Producers of hi-tech connected eyewear are multiplying their innovations with increasingly discreet models in an attempt to make a difference in a highly competitive – and fast-emerging – market.
THROUGHOUT 2024, clean energy solutions provider Gentari has charted significant progress in growing and strengthening its position as a regional leader in renewable energy , hydrogen and green mobility in Asia Pacific.
“As we close 2024, I am proud of the tangible progress Gentari has made in delivering practical clean energy solutions across Asia Pacific,” said Gentari chief executive officer Sushil Purohit. Regionally, India saw substantial growth, marked by key milestones including the commissioning of an interstate transmission system-connected solar project, securing a wind-solar hybrid power project and the successful commissioning of wind turbines for a co-located solar and wind project.
Gentari Solar Australia chief executive officer Andrew Barson shared, “Australia's abundant land and sunshine make it ideal for expanding clean energy capacity, particularly in solar. In the green mobility segment, Gentari continued to expand its portfolio with local and regional partners, closing the year with approximately 1,000 charging points across the region, forming part of a growing cross-border roaming network of over 5,000 CPs spanning Malaysia, India, Thailand and Singapore. To further enhance sustainability, Gentari launched its first BESS for CPs in Perak – the first of its kind in South-East Asia.
“Through initiatives like our cross-border EV roaming network and VaaS offering, we strive to make it easier for businesses and individuals to embrace clean transportation solutions.”

Domestic Tourism in Malaysia Sees Strong Growth in Q3 2024Domestic tourism in Malaysia experienced robust growth in the third quarter of 2024, recording 66.3 million visitors, a 22.3% increase compared to the same period last year. Domestic tourism spending for the first nine months of 2024 reached RM77.8 billion, reflecting a strong 27.2% year-on-year growth.
