The Jaguars appeared out of the postseason picture two weeks ago. But with Trevor Lawrence finding a groove, they look like a team of playoff destiny.

“Man, I’m taking it one week at a time,” said outside linebacker Josh Allen. “When we win the Super Bowl, we can say something like that.”

What seemed like outright fantasy during the Jaguars’ bye week, back when they were 3-7 and trailed Tennessee by four games, is now a real possibility. “I wouldn’t go so far as to say that because there’s still three games left,” said receiver Christian Kirk. “I just want to get into the postseason. That’s all I’m focused on.”Pederson said last week he didn’t want to look too far ahead, then reiterated Monday his focus was on just the Jets game. But when asked if this was a team of destiny, he couldn’t ignore the fact all the AFC South good karma is being monopolized by the Jaguars.

A generation ago, the Jaguars needed so many little things to break right to keep their playoff hopes alive, and it’s no different this time around. Nothing was more fortuitous for the Jaguars than what transpired before Rayshawn Jenkins' 52-yard interception return in overtime beat the Cowboys. Instead of running the ball or trying a safe pass on third-and-10, Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy allowed Dak Prescott to attempt a deep-ball throw along the sideline that fell incomplete out of bounds with 1:13 remaining. That allowed the Jaguars to preserve their last timeout.

If that doesn’t make it look like the Jaguars are a team of postseason destiny, then what exactly is going on here?
