SEREMBAN: Now is not the right time for the 15th General Election (GE15) with floods already occurring in parts of the country, says Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.
The Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar said only Umno and Barisan Nasional seemed to want polls during the rainy season.
"Only last night, areas in Kuala Pilah were flooded and some residents had to be moved to temporary relief centres. "This is just not a good time to have an election," he said on Monday , noting that bad weather has been forecast for the coming weeks. Aminuddin said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob should not have sought the dissolution of Parliament as there was no danger of his government collapsing."We will stick with the decision of the Pakatan Harapan presidential council to only hold the state election next year," he said.Aminuddin hoped the people would come out in full force to vote and make their feelings known at the ballot box.
Earlier in the day, Ismail Sabri announced that the King had consented to the dissolution of the country's 14th Parliament on Monday, paving the way for GE15.
