PETALING JAYA: Seat negotiations with Pakatan Harapan need to be expedited, says Muda election director Amira Aisyah.
She also said on Wednesday that to date, no meeting had been set for 15th General Election seat negotiations despite their electoral pact being formed last week.
“We were also informed that the seat distribution announcement will be made in the near future,” said Amira, who is also Muda deputy president. She said some of the terms agreed upon in forming the pact were that the prime minister candidate must be from the Pakatan presidential council, seat negotiations must not affect incumbency, and approval from Pakatan must be obtained if Muda plans to hold discussions with other parties or coalitions.
Last month, Muda had applied to join Pakatan to avoid clashes in the national polls and there was reluctance from certain PKR leaders for Muda to officially join the coalition. "As far as we are concerned, the seat belongs to Amanah and not PKR. We leave it to the presidential council to decide,” he said after launching the wing’s volunteer mission at PKR headquarters here.
