PETALING JAYA: Will Penang head for state polls in the upcoming 15th General Election (GE15), is a question on many lips.
DAP's central executive committee will have an emergency meeting at its headquarters Thursday night in a last ditch effort to push for the state election.
The Pakatan Harapan presidential council will make a decision on Friday on the issue, after an almost four-hour meeting on Wednesday failed to reach a consensus. "DAP will meet tomorrow and Pakatan on Friday night," said DAP secretary-general Anrhony Loke after the Pakatan presidential meeting at the PKR headquarters.Loke said the DAP CEC will make a final move to prepare for Friday's meeting tomorrow.
Penang is the 'odd one out' which still has not made a decision as both Pakatan states of Selangor and Negri Sembilan had decided not to go for polls. Penang is pushing for an election to be held, as it says the people want it to be held together with the 15th General Elections.
