PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has congratulated Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on his appointment as Malaysia's 10th Prime Minister.
The MCA president sent his congratulations along with a message of hope for the future government under Anwar's leadership."Hopefully with the leadership of the new YAB PM, our country can eradicate the politics of revenge and avoid any division in a plural society," he said in a Facebook post on Thursday .
He added that the country's stability and prosperity is dependent on the need to adopt a culture of moderation and diversity. Dr Wee, who is also Barisan Nasional vice-chairman, also said that he respected Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al- Mustafa Billah Shah's decision to appoint Anwar as Prime Minister of the unity government.
"I respect this decision to form a unity government for the sake of political stability of the country and for all parties to work together to develop the economy for the welfare of the people," he said.
