IPOH: For nearly 20 years, the traffic congestion issue from Falim to the city centre on Jalan Lahat here has never been addressed.
Ng Kai Cheong, Barisan Nasional's candidate for the Ipoh Timur parliamentary constituency, plans to change all that.
Ng said he wants to push for a mega road project to connect Jalan Lahat at the Falim traffic junction and Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah in Pasir Pinji if given the mandate by the people."People from Menglembu and Falim going to the city centre are also often caught in a traffic snarl, especially during peak hours," he told The Star.
The Ipoh Timur MCA division deputy chairman said the project would ease traffic congestion at Jalan Lahat and also benefit the people in Tebing Tinggi and Pasir Pinji. Ng said Barisan and MCA may have lost the Ipoh Timur seat in 2004 but had never stopped serving the people.Ng will contest the parliamentary seat against Pakatan Harapan's Howard Lee Chuan How and Nor Afzainizam Salleh of Perikatan Nasional.
