IPOH: A Barisan Nasional candidate has lodged a police report after receiving a threat and demand from an unknown person on his mobile phone.
Perak police chief Comm Datuk Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said, without naming the individual involved, that the candidate for state seat N24 received the message while campaigning.
The unknown person demanded RM300,000 from the candidate, failing which he threatened to circulate poison pen letters, leaflets and social media messages.N24 is Hulu Kinta, within the Tambun parliamentary constituency. The candidate for Barisan is Datuk Mazlan Abd Rahman.
