KUALA LUMPUR: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia has decided not to cooperate with Pakatan Harapan in the upcoming 15th general election (GE15).
Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the decision was made after it came out that the Pakatan presidential council had decided not to work with the party.
"In line with the democracy principle and the freedom for the voters to choose, the party has prepared to face multi-corner fight during GE15 which will involve Perikatan Nasional, Barisan Nasional,Pakatan and other political parties," he said in a brief statement on Saturday . Muhyiddin also said the party would focus on its efforts to strengthen Perikatan with PAS, Gerakan, SAPP and STAR as a multi-ethnic front in this country and intents to offer the people a leadership that is free from corruption, effective, and concern for the sake of people's prosperity.
Previously, Muhyiddin was reported to have said that the coalition was considering to work with Pakatan Harapan in the upcoming GE15. He had said that this would help avoid clashes between the two coalitions and ensure a straight fight with Barisan in the national polls.
