Music, food, and a whole lot of dancing once again highlight the Louisiana-inspired festival
Let the good times roll: Gator by the Bay is back. “San Diego’s Zydeco, Blues, and Crawfish Festival” returns to Spanish Landing Park Thursday through Sunday for the 20th time since its debut in 2001.
Expecting upwards of 15,000 attendees , Gator by the Bay has seven stages that will host 120 different acts over the weekend. And while the festival is always anchored by the sounds of zydeco, cajun, blues and gospel, different styles of roots music seem to be added every year. He leads an impressive list of award recipients and award nominees performing over the weekend, including the Grammy-nominated The Revelers and multi-Grammy nominee Cedric Watson. Blues Music Award winners Rick Estrin & The Nightcats, Johnny Sansone and Alabama Mike are also on the bill, as well as West Coast Female Blues Vocalist of the Year Tia Carroll.
His one-time bandmate and longtime friend Cedric Watson is also on hand all weekend, but that doesn’t guarantee they’re going to collaborate.
