Gas prices in central Pennsylvania are on the decline, with average prices in Harrisburg about $0.60 cheaper than a year ago, according to GasBuddy, a gas-price tracking website.

The national average on Sept. 16 was $3.15, which is 26.2 cents per gallon cheaper than a month ago and 70.5 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. Diesel fuel is also plummeting in price nationally, with the average price per gallon sitting at $3.57, the lowest since January 2022,
