Garmin today has launched the new Instinct 2X Solar series in Malaysia, which is available in standard and Tactical variants.
As implied by its name, both models under the line-up are equipped with solar charging capability which allows for long-lasting use. Additionally, they also come with rugged bodies, large displays, built-in flashlight, and plenty of other onboard features.
Both the standard and Tactical Edition of the Garmin Instinct 2X Solar feature a 50mm fibre-reinforced polymer body , along with 1.1-inch display that’s protected under a scratch-resistant glass. The latter also doubles as a solar panel, which technically grants the wearable with unlimited battery life. The screen itself, on the other hand, is monotone and has a resolution of 176 x 176 pixels.
While you could have unlimited battery life thanks to its solar charging capability, Garmin notes that the smartwatch can last up to 28 days without charging on smartwatch mode, up to 65 days on battery saver mode, up to 30 hours on GPS, or up to 32 days on Expedition GPS Activity mode. If required, you may choose to charge it through a power source by using a compatible proprietary charger.
