A total of four drivers were arrested on suspicion of getting behind the wheel while under the influence of alcohol
Donegal Gardai have hit out at drivers saying it appears their road safety message is not hitting home..Two of those arrested were in the Carndonagh area and another two in the Buncrana area. The spokesperson said "Sadly, it would appear that the road safety message is not hitting home with some people.
The spokesperson added "Always make wise decisions when it comes to safety on the roads. Your life and the lives of others are much too precious not to." He said "From talking to people on the street they simply can't believe getting behind the wheel with alcohol and drugs in their system. "The reality is that they can afford to take a chance because there are simply not enough Garda checkpoints out and about.
