Sophie Turner is reportedly doing screen tests for the Amazon adaptation
A live-action Tomb Raider TV show has been swirling around at Amazon for a couple of years now, and it sounds like the series might be honing in on its future Lara Croft . Deadline reports that Game of Thrones’ Sophie Turner as well as Murder on the Orient Express’ Lucy Boynton are currently in the running for the iconic video game role. The show’s script was written by Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller -Bridge and ordered by Amazon earlier this year.
She’s currently starring in the British crime drama series Joan. Boynton, meanwhile, has appeared in Bohemian Rhapsody, The Pale Blue Eye, and Barbie, while also playing Astrid Sloan in the comedy drama The Politician. One of the longest-running series in gaming, Tomb Raider has already had a number of on-screen adaptations. There were two movies in the early 2000s starring Angelina Jolie and a reboot in 2018 starring Alicia Vikander as the titular hero.
