A GAA club in Wexford raised thousands for one its club members, young father Steven Brosnan, after he was diagnosed with cancer.
The organisers who put the GoFundMe page together described Steven and his family as "deeply embedded" in the club's tight-knit community and vowed to support them through the fight against the disease. "As a club we value our members and players and we will always do our best to support them in any way we can and that's the reason that this GoFundMe page has been established - so people can offer support to Steven and his family in a quick and easy way," read the details on the GoFundMe page.
"As you can imagine Steven has had to stop working for a while and his wife Sarah is on reduced hours so all funds raised will go towards Stephen and his family to help them get through this challenging period.
