G-60 lawmakers commend Governor Siminalayi Fubara for appointing 23 new Local Government Council Caretaker Committee Chairmen in Rivers State, following the expiration of former chairmen's tenure.

The G-60, in a statement, recalled that the tenure of the elected council chairmen in the 23 local government areas of Rivers State, who were sworn in three years ago during Governor Nyesom Wike’s administration, had expired on Monday, 17th June 2024. “We congratulate the Rivers State Governor, His Excellency Siminalayi Fubara, and the good people of the state on the swearing-in of 23 Local Government Council Caretaker Committee Chairmen, following their successful screening by the Rivers State House of Assembly. This action fills the vacancies created by the expiration of the former elected local government council chairmen’s tenure on Monday, 17th June 2024.
